‘Stay-cation’

Pretty low key. Caught up on some weeding and reading. Mowing and putting a new weed-whacker to work. Biggest news was Rosie (Elly’s Airstream) returning from Franks Trailer Works in Baltimore with a new floor and other structural improvements.

Elly got right to work sealing up leaks so she can dive into the wiring and interior rebuild.

Fred helped …

… when he wasn’t too busy looking cute.

(The poochers got way too much attention.)

With Rosie sitting at least 6 inches higher, Jade found a new shady spot to hang out on hot days.

And I took far fewer pix than I thought I would, given all the free time.

I love having the historic Minns Garden right outside the building where I work. It’s got great bones. But I’ll admit that there are so many things going on in there that my eyes glaze over when I walk by or through. I needed a break from a Saturday morning session in the office today. So I decided to make the most of it and take a closer look.

Wow. I think that’s the longest I’ve ever gone without blogging. But it’s been busy ’round here — and too hot to shoot pix or even sweat over the keyboard. Apologies. I think I’m acclimated now, as the upper 80s today didn’t seem all that bad.

Here are a few pix, most from at least a week or so ago. Can’t get to many umbells.

Achillea ‘Terra Cotta’ (if I recall correctly).

I nice creamy yellow Digitalis. Don’t know the species or cultivar.

The patio, sans Norway maple. It’s going to take me a couple years to adjust, moving out dry shade plants and moving in sun-lovers. The view is still pretty nice.

I always wonder if Dr. Seuss was inspired by Jerusalem sage (Phlomis spp.) when drawing his imaginary plants. Any other candidates for Dr. Seuss-like plants?
