I love having the historic Minns Garden right outside the building where I work. It’s got great bones. But I’ll admit that there are so many things going on in there that my eyes glaze over when I walk by or through. I needed a break from a Saturday morning session in the office today. So I decided to make the most of it and take a closer look.

In case you missed it this week, Zonker and Zipper explore the erotica that is bulb catalogs. You can view Start with Monday’s strip and work you’re way through the week by clicking on the next tab.

Email from UPS says my bulb order arrives Tuesday.
While shooting pix the other day I heard the tell-tale squawks of crows harassing a hawk, then they flew right overhead.

Colchicums at Billie Jean Isbell’s garden. Billie Jean hosted our first fall 2009 program of the Adirondack Chapter of the North American Rock Garden Society. Love her garden.

I like to travel vicariously. (See Nate’s China pix.) This summer, niece Becky is in Spain doing crow research. Even though she’s not a plant person, she sent back pix that make me think I should go live there. Tile roofs. Roses. Old world Mediterranean landscapes.
Becky: Please send more.
