Adirondack Chapter, North American Rock Garden Society

About

The Adirondack Chapter of the North American Rock Garden Society (NARGS) draws its members from the Adirondacks to Lake Erie and from Lake Ontario to northern Pennsylvania.

Our members - new or experienced gardeners, garden writers, designers, or nursery owners - enjoy alpines and low-growing perennials, dwarf evergreens, bulbs, and woodland plants. We try to recreate habitats of wildflowers that grow well among rocks.

Come to monthly meetings to meet fascinating national and international garden experts, for garden tours, plant-of-the-month sales, workshops, and door prizes. Share gardening experiences and forge new friendships.

Our tours open gates to great gardens that the general public will never see. Many members also open their gardens privately, requiring only a phone call to arrange a visit.

We hold three plant sales a year, with hundreds of unusual plants. Many are grown from seeds that members acquire through the NARGS seed exchange.

Our newsletter, Green Dragon Tales, reminds us of upcoming local and national gardening events and provides another forum for an exchange of garden news. For an even broader rock gardening experience, we encourage you to join North American Rock Garden Society at the national level. Please visit the NARGS website  to learn more.

If you would like to join the Adirondack Chapter of NARGS, see the membership information page and the membership form.
